Treatment Education Committee

The Treatment Education Committee (TxED) is ATAC’s newest working group. It is dedicated to preserving community-based treatment education programming in the U.S, and conducting specialized training programs for people living with HIV and their allies.

Since the early years of the epidemic, peer-driven treatment education has been an integral part of the community’s response to the AIDS crisis. Over the past five years funding for community-based treatment education programs has been drastically cut or eliminated altogether in cities across the country. The TxED committee of ATAC will work to restore these programs and to develop a nationwide training program to certify individuals engaged in treatment education activities. The TxED committee will also continue ATAC’s highly successful Treatment Activism Boot Camps in cities across the United States.

Get involved now! We are especially looking for individuals with experience in community-level Treatment Education program development, training, and advocacy
